Asus has announced its first-ever Fan Edition gaming phone, the Asus ROG Phone 9 FE. At least that’s what we assume FE means, going by Samsung’s use of the term. We’ve not seen any other brands use it and Asus doesn’t outright explain the abbreviation.

ASUS ROG’s smartphone line-up welcomes a new member, the ASUS ROG Phone 9 FE. The ASUS ROG Phone 9 FE is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. It’s still a proper flagship chip, but not as powerful as the Snapdragon 8 Elite of the ROG Phone 9 and 9 Pro.

The camera system is borrowed from the ROG Phone 9 and Indian ROG Phone 8, featuring a 50MP main sensor (Sony IMX890) with gimbal stabilization, a 13MP ultrawide lens with a free-form design, and a 5MP macro camera. For selfies, there’s a 32MP front-facing camera with an RGBW color filter to enhance low-light shots.
