Many recognize the mascot handler of Butler's "Blue three" also known as Trip.While Michael Kaltenmark and Trip were busy representing Butler, Michael fell ill and needed a Kidney transplant.

INDIANAPOLIS — The retired Butler University live bulldog mascot has died. Butler Blue III, also known as “Trip,” was an English Bulldog who served as Butler’s live mascot from 2013 to 2020.

Butler University's beloved mascot recently had surgery for a CCL tear, the canine version of an ACL injury. The operation was on October 20, and Blue IV was temporarily sidelined while he heals.
