A new AI system could help prevent elephant poaching in Malaysia, according to researchers at Cardiff University.

No passengers were injured, but wildlife veterinary officers are treating a female elephant and an injured calf in the city of Giritale, Sri Lanka’s state-owned Daily News reported Thursday.

In India, the elephant is widely regarded as a symbol of good fortune, wealth and status, as only the most affluent families once owned elephants.
