A rainy, wet, miserable day at Torrey Pines Golf Club tested the world's best in the first round of the 2025 Genesis Invitational. Taking to the South Course, players endured a brutal 18 holes and combined to post a scoring average north of two strokes over par.

The world No. 1 trails Davis Thompson through 36 holes at Torrey Pines with former Texas Tech golfer Ludvig Aberg 4 shots back.

Rodgers was at his best Saturday when golf's best were faltering on a tough day at Torrey Pines, playing mistake-free until dumping a gap wedge into the water on the par-5 18th for his only bogey. That gave him a 4-under 68 and a one-shot lead going into the final round.
