Iga Świątek booked her place in the semifinals of this year’s Australian Open after thrashing American star Emma Navarro on Tuesday, but the match wasn’t without its controversy.

Hope for an All-American semifinal was dashed after five-time Grand Slam winner Iga Swiatek beat Emma Navarro on Wednesday.

Iga Świątek dealt a straight-sets blow to Emma Navarro to reach the semifinals at the Australian Open, setting up a clash with Madison Keys.

Keys, whose best showing at a major was getting to the title match at the 2017 U.S. Open, was a 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 winner against Elina Svitolina and is into her third semifinal in Australia.
