Q. Mobile, Charleston and New Orleans are noted for their magnificent live oak trees, many of which have Spanish moss hanging from their limbs. I have several questions about this gray plant.

it uses trees (most commonly live oaks) as more of a landing pad to grow on, but not to grow in place of. Contrary to popular belief, Spanish moss doesn’t actively kill the trees on which it grows.
