Memphis' winter storm warning will be in effect from noon Tuesday to noon Wednesday. Some schools started taking precautions before the poor weather.

Many Memphis agencies are preparing for the winter storm to hit the Mid-South. "Each time I voted for you, it was because I knew you'd make things right and you'd fix the wrongs. I'm counting on you now to make this right too."

Whatever happens and whatever falls, local officials said they are ready in a press conference at City Hall on Tuesday afternoon.

Memphis is under a winter storm watch, with the heaviest snowfall expected Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning. Snowfall accumulation in Memphis is predicted to be between one to two inches, but could reach up to five inches in areas north of the city.
