The 27th Chinatown Lunar New Year Parade and Festival will be held tomorrow in Lower Manhattan. Celebrations kicking off the Year of the Snake began on Jan. 29. This year was the first year that New York City public school students had the holiday off. CUNY campuses also observed the holiday for the first time this year.

New York City's annual Lunar New Year Parade takes over Chinatown on Sunday. Saturday Night Live is celebrating 50 years and got together a group of stars to commemorate the milestone. Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson were among the celebrities who attended SNL50: The Homecoming Concert and participated in a funny bit.

Lunar New Year celebrations in New York City are continuing, with the 27th annual Lunar New Year Parade snaking its way through Chinatown on Sunday. The parade marking the Year of the Snake will uncoil in Little Italy and end on Broome Street near Sara D.
