A fundraiser created for the mother of three children killed in an apartment fire in southwest Atlanta this week has nearly reached its goal in one day.
Spalding Drive Elementary School in Sandy Springs and Parklane Elementary in East Point will close at the end of the school year. Students will be rezoned to other schools.
The school board voted 4-3 on Thursday night to close both Parklane Elementary School and Spalding Drive Elementary School.
