After residents across most of the Bay State wake up to several inches of snow on the ground, meteorologists say the weather is going to take a turn for the worse Sunday as ice accumulates and

The snow will arrive Saturday between 10 p.m. and midnight. Once it arrives, it will hit the ground running. The majority of the snow accumulation will occur between midnight and 7 a.m. on Sunday. There will be some light snow and flurries between 7 a.m. and noon but very little additional accumulation.

A burst of snow from a winter storm is expected Saturday night, with the peak of the storm starting in the early hours of Sunday. The storm will shift over to rain by Sunday morning, creating a possible ice hazard across much of Massachusetts.
