Sep 26, 2023 · I know that Joan Hickson is usually said to be the definitive Miss Marple and that she was Christie's choice to play her, but to me, she doesn't fit the Marple of the books. Miss Marple is described as fluffy and fluttery, and I don't see that at all in Hickson's portrayal.
