Jul 3, 2013 · Antelope are fairly small critters with light bone structure. You don't have a lot of meat to start with. The last thing you want is a light bullet that is going to fragment and ruin more meat. Any decent hunter can get with 300 yards of an antelope, and you'll likely have breezy conditions during your hunt. Go with the 130 grain bullet.

Jan 1, 2025 · Each group spent approximately 4 hours driving their route and met in Bickelton. This survey was done primarily by 3 SCI chapters with the locations of antelope to be shared with WDFW whom I believe will do an airiel survey at some point. Our groups found 183 antelope. With a high buck to doe/fawn ratio.

Oct 31, 2008 · Question. How do you remove the horns off an antelope so you can preserve the flesh underneath? The goats I have killed before werelate in the season so the horns just pulled off. This one i got now was early in the season so the horns are stuck on good. It's been in the freezer since the kill in early Oct. Thanks for the advice. Roger

Dec 30, 2024 · It is possible at this time of year to find as many as 60-100 antelope in some areas..poaching and pad kills still remain as an issue.. our SCI chapters have promised rewards for any convictions of antelope poaching in this state..when Rich Harris was working with WDFW as a biologist he was really good at recognizing them in the state and ...

Sep 16, 2012 · It made the antelope very, very easy to spot, even at distances of 3-5 miles sometimes. The day I shot the buck, we drove south down to Phoenix and were in solid rain for two hours. In the last picture, you can see a rain shower just to the right of my left shoulder which hit us as we carried the buck out.

Aug 27, 2014 · Congrats to him! That's a special area to hunt anything in, especially antelope! My dad drew this tag in 2004 with like 4 points as a non-resident! It was an awesome hunt! He ended up killing a buck like the one above at 7,500' elevation at the top of McCoy Creek canyon. We also caught some bug trout in the Blitzen River, what a good time!

Feb 8, 2021 · Pretty much spot on, the antelope will be picked over and skiddish as well as in their winter range and the mulies won't be in the rut. In some places the antelope migrate such that they will either appear where you can hunt them or disappear, so I would be careful before you drop the money and points getting a goat tag.

Nov 2, 2024 · My buddy and I went antelope hunting. He was the hunter, I was the camera man lol. Second day of his hunt, he took a nice one! 150 yard shot with patched round ball.
