Ashoke Sen is Professor at the Harish-Chandra Research Institute, Allahabad. He received his PhD from the SUNY at Stony Brook in 1982. He has made pioneering contributions to the development of string theory.

He has been with the institute for the last 17 years. He is also the Morningstar Visiting Professor at MIT and a distinguished professor at the Korea Institute for Advanced Study.

My specific research interests include S-duality, tachyon condensation, black hole entropy and superstring perturbation theory.
