Apr 19, 2018 · The image mosaic, composed of Landsat thematic mapper scenes collected from 1990 through 1994, is the most complete basinwide image of the entire Chesapeake Bay. The information on the map is used by the USGS in hard copy format for educational activities and in electronic soft copy format for land use analysis.

The Chesapeake Bay is the largest estuary in the contiguous US. The watershed covers 64,000 square miles and is fed by 50 major rivers and streams. Everything always flows downstream.
