Aug 29, 2022 · PROVIDENCE — A Superior Court jury on Monday awarded a Hawaii man $4.8 million for injuries he suffered from faulty surgical mesh implanted during a hernia repair.

By mid-2018 at least 53 hernia mesh lawsuits were pending against Bard and Davol in 21 federal district courts (and at least 69 potential “tag-along” cases had been identified) claiming injuries from one of their many polypropylene hernia mesh products.

Aug 29, 2022 · Davol and C.R. Bard – 2010 – This was the 2nd bellwether trial in the Kugel hernia mesh lawsuit litigation in Rhode Island Federal Court. In this hernia mesh lawsuit, the Rhode Island and Providence Plantations jury awarded the plaintiffs $1.5 million.

The first hernia mesh trial in this new year against Davol settled for an unknown amount on the eve of trial. Thousands more polypropylene hernia mesh cases are waiting to be heard in four venues.
