The Financial Services Skills Commission 2024 Future Skills Report provides insights into current skills trends and analysis on how the sector is responding through talent and skills programmes.

Claire Tunley is the Chief Executive of the Financial Services Skills Commission, appointed in May 2020. Prior to this role, Claire was Head of Skills Policy at City of London Corporation leading on skills and talent policy.

The FSCB welcomes the launch of the Financial Services Skills Commission's Future Skills Framework and is pleased to be collaborating with and supporting the FSSC in its work. This framework will provide firms with useful guidance on ways to attract, retain and develop talent.

The Financial Services Skills Commission (FSSC) is an independent, not for profit, member-led body, representing the UK’s financial services sector on skills. The FSSC works directly with the sector to ensure that businesses have the talent and skills they need for the future. The FSSC has over 30 members,

Define the future skill requirements via a Future Skills Framework and promote adoption by firms and key stakeholders. Improve the learning culture in the sector. Develop principles to support learning pathways and routes to future skills, with the aim of driving increased access.

We collaborate with our members to develop and build skills in financial services, whilst increasing the supply and diversity of talent within the sector. Our members represent key stakeholders from across the sector, including banking, insurance, investment, FinTech and professional services.

The Future Skills Framework and Skills Gap Analysis Toolkit have been developed by the Commission’s members to help the sector approach their skills needs through a shared understanding of skills progression, develop career pathways, and adjust to the needs of a changing customer and business landscape.
