I found this usage in a short story called "Casting Away" by Alice Munro. Here's the context: When she entered the Town Hall she always felt he might be there before her, leaning up against the wall awaiting her arrival.

Before being ready to do a proper handstand, you first have to be able to stand on your hands while leaning against the wall. I would tweak 2. just a little: To do a proper handstand, you first have to be able to lean against a wall while standing on your hands.

Aug 26, 2020 · @RamPillai "Lean to the wall" doesn't sound idiomatic. "To" would suggest "toward" and is not the same thing as "lean against the wall". "Lean towards the wall" sounds much better but is still not the answer. "Against" is what the OP is looking for here. –

If the idea is that he is putting is foot through the wall, i.e. making a hole, then "stick" is correct. But as the poster here says, if the idea is that he is resting his shoe against the wall, perhaps leaving footprints on the wall, then "stick" is not really appropriate.

However, in most cases, most people would just call it "where the wall and floor meet," "where the floor meets the wall," or "where the wall meets the floor."
