Feb 18, 2016 · In 1970, just like the NFL merged with the AFL, the IFL merged with the AFL's minor league, the WFA, and the 2 leagues now went by the AFL name, with teams as far west as Portland, and as far south as Jacksonville. Jan 8, 2014 · Rock Island is another team that had success pre NFL. In 1919 they went 9-1-1 but never had the same success afterwards. In 1926 they jumped ship, being the only NFL team to move to the 1926 version of the AFL. The rival league didn't pay as well as the NFL and they folded in 1927. Original uniform. Reimagining.
