Jan 25, 2025 · This D-28 has a smoothness, sweetness, and power that is reminiscent of a wartime D-28, with the primary difference being the straight bracing here (as opposed to the scalloped braces on the earlier ones), which actually helps limit the boominess.

Up for sale today is an incredible 1953 Martin D-28 in great cosmetic shape with a Martin Molded Hard Case. The spruce top features a nice and straight grain, and the Brazilian rosewood is beautifully understated.

This 1953 Martin D-28 comes with a hard case, from a few years later (mid 50s) and is in good condition. The hard case can also be traded for a new Calton case for a nominal charge. Serial #129794.
