Jun 18, 2010 · -03/04 ZX6R Rear Wheel is a direct bolt on, and the front wheel needs the 05+ ZX6R rotors to be used. Always use the spacers for the generation wheel you are swapping for a direct swap.-05+ ZX6R Rear Wheel can be used, but it is skinnier and needs either new spacers made or spacers added to what is there.

There are also kits you can buy, and I've seen a nice write up on using PVC pipe instead of a zip tie—Google search zx6r zip tie mod, and there are a ton of resources on the subject. I've heard you can accomplish the same by using an R6 throttle twist.

Apr 21, 2021 · 2001 zx6r j1 I’ve noticed a rattle from the engine when stationary, said rattle disappears when Engaged in gear and releasing the clutch for pull off, so a local bike technician told me my Auto Cam Chain Tensioner is failing and that I’ll need to reinstall a manual Tensioner to take up the chain slack.

Dec 2, 2008 · IT IS A 2001 the rotors are gold. The 05,06,07 zzrs with ebony plastics have black brake rotors. AT most what he did was 2001 ZX6r, J model and put on 05/06/07 ebony plastics on it with black tank. That does have the old fairing stay on it so it definitly has to be a 2001-2002. Nothing is different other than the fairing stay.

Jul 31, 2022 · I have a 2001 ZX6R that was given to me. It was put away in 2002 with 6k miles on it, and has been sitting ever since. I have been going through it getting all the fluids replaced and changing all the seals and things that will go from a bike sitting for that long!
