Aug 29, 2024 · In 2016, Mayor Bowser launched 202Creates to recognize and celebrate the important contributions of the arts in the District. Each year during the month of September, we elevate public awareness surrounding the value of the arts and the collective impact the arts bring to the District, known as one of the most creative cities in the world.

Led by OCTFME and CAO, 202Creates engages residents through events, activities, and resources that enrich our communities across all 8 wards. 202Creates does 3 important things: Builds an interdisciplinary community by connecting creative District residents with each other through events and networking activities.

(Washington, DC) – Today, Mayor Muriel Bowser and the Office of Cable Television, Film, Music, and Entertainment (OCTFME) kicked off 202Creates with live performances by DC artists, creatives, and art activations at an event emceed by WHUR Radio personality Sunni and the City.

Aug 29, 2023 · (Washington, DC) – On Wednesday, August 30 at 6 pm, Mayor Muriel Bowser and the Office of Cable Television, Film, Music, and Entertainment will kick off 202Creates, the annual month-long celebration of DC’s entrepreneurial and creative communities. The celebration will include live performances, DJs, musical and artistic activations, and more.

The #202Creates show highlights creative events and activities that bring DC's creative community together across all 8 wards. A celebration of creators, makers and innovators citywide, #202Creates is a platform that amplifies DC's exciting creative talent. New episodes are available every two weeks.

202creates provides space, resources, and promotion, to grow the district’s creative economy.
