Interstate 355 (I-355), also known as the Veterans Memorial Tollway, is an Interstate Highway and tollway in the western and southwest suburbs of Chicago in the U.S. state of Illinois. Like most other toll roads in the northeastern portion of the state, I-355 is maintained by the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority (ISTHA).

Interstate 355 in Illinois is the Veterans Memorial (North-South) Tollway. Part of the Illinois Tollway System, I-355 connects I-80 in New Lenox with I-290 in Addison. The toll road meets I-55 in Bolingbrook and crosses Interstate 88 (Ronald Reagan Memorial Tollway) at Downers Grove.

Interstate 355 is the newest of the "x55's" in Illinois. It is also the only branches of I-55 that is a toll highway. This is also the shortest of the I-55 branches. According to the Federal Highway Administration's Route Log, this highway is 32.5 miles long. I-355 carries the name of the Veterans Memorial Tollway.

I-355, North-South Tollway Newly extended south from I-55 to I-80, I-355 has but one interesting guide sign in that stretch, and only because it's a distance sign with no destinations. The new NB bridge across the Des Plaines River, or maybe DesPlaines, because I see about half a space between the 'D' and 'P' both times it's written.

Feb 6, 2025 · Has anyone traveled 355 between 83 and 73 in the last couple days? Reason is we want to go down it tomorrow and someone here in Roberval said a section was closed and then was some logging going on and some gravel involved. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
