If you want to run more than 8 PSI you need to decide if buying a gruntbox and working with what you have will be the best route or if you should upgrade to something with more control.

May 27, 2011 · as for the best way to go about it from what i have researched is the 20v silvertop will respond to the turbo a lot better than the black top in its standard form. the blacktop has a higher compression ratio and uses lighter and thinner conrods and when boosted tends to flex and bend the conrods.

Jan 6, 2007 · There is a standard ST 20v turbo over here (running an aftermarket ECU) that make 135kw @ the wheels on 5psi. 149 @ 7 psi. Seems to be holding together well. Also FYI, the bottom end of the ST 20v is the same as the MAP 4agze (except the pistons)

May 29, 2015 · Depends on what route you took and how lucky you got. You might be able to get to 160 WHP with just cams and possibly light tweaks on a 20v. Above that turbo will start pulling ahead quickly as far as $/hp.
