Aug 21, 2017 · Back in the '80s, there was a Brazilian firm that was building 4x4 VW vans for, among other customers, the Brazilian military. The trailing arms shown in one of the pics ("post 55") are Type 2 IRS Bus. One of the early pics shows a rolling 4x4 chassis...with swingaxle rear. And that Bug with the body on it is DEFINITELY NOT a Super Beetle.

Nov 23, 2011 · Just bolt the VW Body onto a spine from a Stey-Puch 710M.. This allows you to stay aircooled and have the most capable 4X4 of all time under the VW body. Locking diffs, portal axles and Austrian design/ simplicity with a 4 cylinder inline aircooled engine. I may do this with my Pinzgauer someday when the body rust gets the better of it..

May 23, 2009 · When looking at the bus from the outside, it looks like a VW bus, but it has greater ground clearance, and big wheels and tires (rear wheel wells were cut out). A flipper out of Davis loves it and has been wanting to trade an old bus or two for it for over a year, but he is taking so long I may offer it up for trade or else return it to stock.

Jan 18, 2015 · So there you have it.. how to make a 4x4 bug without using Syncro parts! Of course they didn't stop there.. they use the bus motor and some rear suspension components, reinforced the pan, added vacuum boosted disk brakes all around, added a cage, and a bunch of other touches. Looks like it turned out to be a heck of a car.

Jan 6, 2009 · My bus is lowered with a 4" narrowed beam built by Nate and 3.5 dropped spindles. Out back it is a simple bug swing axel fitted with a super diff. Non-notched spring plates. After my 944 disc conversion, I would like to run 6" cookie cutters up front and 7" in the back, but worried about fitting them under the back.
