From a marketing standpoint Bayer would much rather you buy the cat sized vials than the Extra Large Dog sized vials because you are spending 10 times as much for the same amount of the same product.

Both of the batches you purchased should still be very effective because Advantage II was first released in March 2011 so any Advantage II you have is no older than that.

The "plus" and "II" part is just an IGR and cats actually need a higher dose of that than dogs do so that amount isn't dangerous. "However the box of the product says "Do not use on cats".
