Established in 2009, the AIUB Social Welfare Club – Shomoy (ASC), aims to provide students with opportunities to learn about social welfare issues, volunteer their time to help others, and develop leadership skills.

The event, which was held on 22nd of July 2023 at the AIUB Campus, brought together social innovation ideas of over 350 participants, many accompanied by their respective parents, guardians, and college teachers, in nearly 100 teams in the category of project posters and prototypes, from more than 30 different colleges of Dhaka.

Aug 16, 2016 · The AIUB Social Welfare Club, ‘Shomoy’ raises funds from the students, faculty members, and officers, to provide new clothes to the underprivileged children this Eid-ul-Fitr. The orientation program of the newly recruited members of AIUB Shomoy Club was held on March 21, 2010. Professor Dr. Tafazzal Hossain, Vice President, Academics was present in the orientation as the Chief Guest. The program included a presentation of various activities of Shomoy Club and a cultural program at the end.
