Feb 26, 2012 · After 18 months of searching on the bay, nothing had come up, so I bought some 6x6mm aluminum rods and copied the original rails. The pivot axles for the lower front suspension arms had reached some fantastic angles which seemed unfit for use.

Oct 30, 2011 · Bought it for about $60 just before christmas. It came 100% complete (radio box not in pics) along with unpainted original body. Quite a rare find! I´m far too unpatient to take pics during restoration so I only have pics of the finished car.

The 566B Super Trail is a 2WD buggy. Typical of AYK engineering, it consisted of an innovative aluminum chassis, enclosed state-of-the-art transmission with all aluminum gears, and a waterproof radio case..

The AYK 566B Super Trail was AYK's first off-road car. It came in two body styles, the Baja Bison and the American Pickup (a Ford F150). The 566B kits initially came in a larger box with blister sealed parts (see my AYK 566B Pickup in my showroom) .

As many of you will know this is a vintage RC car that was a contemporary of the original Sand Scorcher. However as AYK no longer exist, there is no likelihood of this one being re-released. Alloy chassis and gearbox. The body has been painted on the inside AND the outside, but some of the paint is flaking off so it might strip easily.
