Feb 23, 2014 · Go for the 330d, I was in the same position as you, had an E46 320d which had a death rattle, and was thinking of getting an E91 320d or a 330d. I opted for the 330d and haven't regretted it, especially when you consider you can remap them up to the same sort of power as a 335d and still get low-mid 40's out of them.

Jul 1, 2011 · The 320d could, when driven well, get 1000 miles to a tank where my 330d would get around 750 - 800. However, the 330d is a much nicer car overall. 6 cylinder engines by BMW are legendary. The 330d hardly ever sounded like a diesel, pulled amazingly well everywhere and the remap made it even better. It is just a much more fun car overall.

Jan 5, 2020 · So the choice is between a 320d and 330d - F30, around 3 years old, auto, M sport. Probably not an x-drive or 335 (prefer RWD and don't want poor fuel economy). I note that there is not much difference between 320d and 330d in the MPGs but 330 is a lot more refined and powerful. And not much difference in price.

Jul 15, 2021 · BMW appear to be lagging when it comes to hybrids, the electric part will be around 20 to 30 miles if lucky, and then the petrol matched with it won't be particularly capable for the body size - this was from a colleague that had a X5 4.0e company car for a while, in your case though, the 320d would make more sense for the near weekly long trips..

Mar 13, 2018 · A bit weird comparison, 330d is an economic space shuttle compared to the "weak" and consuming 2.0i. If you are buying 2015 ish BMW diesel you really should not worry about anything honestly, it is "too new" :thumbsup...If it was a 2005 ish model then you should worry about leaking inlet manifold (bad swirl flaps), dying oil sensors, pressure converters, glow plug models, dying thermostats ...

I also toyed with the idea of making it look sportier but settled with just tinting the windows, looks nice as it is so don't worry about any mods. I spoke with a local specialist and they mentioned lowering the suspension but cost wise it was over £500 for a bmw approved mod.
