I owned a 2018 440i before my 2018 M4. The cars are really quite different - not just in power but overall driving dynamics. The M4 is a much more serious machine - harder suspension, louder exhaust, harder shifting DCT, and a lot more top end power. The 440 is a great car, and the B58 is powerful, especially off the line.

This said, the opposite is true as well - a 440i Gran Coupe offers more space, 5 doors, more luxury and is much more usable as a daily / family car; Engine performance-wise, in isolation, you can get an B58 to and beyond the level of a stock M4!

Apr 25, 2017 · While I enjoy my car, the engine upgrade even along with the LCI wouldn't be enough for me to want to buy a 340/440i over my current 435 as there really just isn't enough differentiation - 90% the same car. Now, perhaps when they come out with the G chassis designation for the 4 series, I would consider a 440i, but only in gran coupe form.

In the extreme, $100 would be worthwhile, $100k more would not to most people. $500 more versus $15k more, same conclusions.The threshold for everyone is different.

Sep 11, 2021 · I just made sime diggin, and you are right. There are aftermarket grills for the coupe, but not just the M4 has different grill even the coupe’s is different. So it’s not possible at all on a gc, as it wont fit the m4’s and neither the aftermarket ones for the coupe. Dead end 😃

Jun 10, 2018 · 435d vs 440i!! Was having an interesting debate with a mate who owns a 440i about the capabilities of our respective cars. I'm pretty confident the 435d is pretty much perfect in all scenarios 0-30, 0-60, 30-60 and 50-80.
