Buck 119 tang type? - BladeForums.com
Jan 22, 2010 · The 119 Special is a full tang, but it is not an exposed tang such as a 124 Frontiesman or any other similar knife that has a slab (two separate pieces) handle. The 119 tang runs completely through the handle into the butt which is riveted to the tang.
Thoughts on the Buck 119 pro? - BladeForums.com
Mar 11, 2016 · I think because the name of the manufacturer is Buck you feel entitled to a bargain price. I prefer 420HC (I like Buck's 420HC) in that size blade for it's toughness. You cry an wail for super steel on every knife but don't want to pay a fair price. Sorry that is my view. You want S35VN and Micarta OK so Buck up (punn intended.)
Is the buck 119 special different than the 119? - BladeForums.com
Oct 16, 2007 · As stated above, it's a model number/name. But the 119 Special is available in aluminum guard/pommel and phenolic grip or brass guard/pommel and wood grip...Plus there are Custom Specials with premium steel blades and exotic grip materials...and the very-older Specials were made with premium steel blades...It gets complicated...
Buck 119 Special - is this normal? - BladeForums.com
Apr 3, 2001 · My 119 is like this and nice and tight, so is my 102. My 212 was also like this, and the guard was not easy to remove when I rehandled it so i can say confidently that it's not an issue. If I remember correctly the gap like this continues to the handle and pommel, my guess is for air escape when gluing during assembly.
Buck 119 - what steel - BladeForums.com
Oct 25, 2009 · I want to purchase a Buck 119 but cannot decide on what steel. Copper and Clad carries everything from standard 420HC, 5160, S30V, ect.. If you use a Buck 119 in the standard 420HC and have other Buck 119's in the different steels, can you compare them and give me a recommendation on what you like best.
Old Buck 119 Age, Worth? - BladeForums.com
Aug 7, 2006 · "Buck" is next to the guard and perpendicular to the blade. I would say it's in very good condition with some scratches on the bolsters. Has been sharpened some. I'd say about 95-98% of the blade is still there. Nothing else has been done to it. This was my very first Buck and I believe I purchased it either in the very late 60s or early 70s.

Buck 119 Handle - BladeForums.com
Oct 28, 2005 · I have a Buck (119) Special that I bought in 1966. Although I like the knife overall, I sometimes refrain from using it because of the slippery black, smooth handle. With all the rubber, neoprene, and other non-slip handles available, I like the feel and grip on them better. Is there anything that can be done with those grips?
