Manufactured by the Czechoslovak firm Česká zbrojovka the vz. 82 replaced the 7.62×25mm Tokarev vz. 52 pistol in Czechoslovak military service in 1983. It is a compact, single/double-action, semi-automatic pistol with a conventional blowback action.

May 20, 2008 · I have both the mak and the CZ-82, and I would prefer the Mak because it's the easiest pistol on the market to completely dissasemble and work on. The Makarov taught me gunsmithing. A great pistol for a new owner of firearms, or someone who wants total reliability.

Jul 11, 2023 · For a completely modernized Makarov that isn't nearly as dated the CZ82 is awesome. The trigger is great on both double and single, it has double stack mags, and the mag release is in a better spot. I love both of mine.

Jul 11, 2013 · The CZ-82 is the most modern with replacable full size sights and double stack mags. It is a solid dependable and accurate pistol. The Makarov is a low parts count marvel, alot of parts serve double or tripple duty and are easy to totally dissasemble.

Jun 23, 2010 · Before I get burned up here, flamed, let me say that I own and enjoy three Makarov's; an East German, Russian IJ70, and a Bulgarian. All great guns. BUT, the CZ-82 has it all over them. Better trigger, more ammunition, (12 VS. 8), better magazine release. It's more accurate than any of them.
