Cape Riche Homestead also known as Moirs Property is a building situated at Cape Riche approximately 120 kilometres (75 mi) east of Albany in the Great Southern region of Western Australia. George Cheyne took up land in the area in 1836. [ 1 ]

Cape Riche is a cape in the Great Southern region of Western Australia. [1] By road, it is 525 km south-east of Perth and 123 km north-east of Albany. It is part of the locality of Wellstead [2] and is 24 km south of the townsite. Facilities in the area include a boat launching ramp and a campground with flushing toilets and showers. [3] [4]

I am a cancer survivor and work with patients in an art program through the Cape Breton Cancer Centre called The Art of Living. There is a collaborative exhibition of this work in July every year at the Cape Breton Centre for Craft and Design.

In 1865 Scottish brothers Andrew (1817-1912) and George Moir (1834-1916) from Cape Riche near Albany and uncles of the Fanny Cove Moirs held a Pastoral lease at the Oldfield River at Cowerup.

John Moir (12 August 1851 – 31 May 1939) was an Australian pastoralist in the areas to the east of Albany, in the Great Southern region of Western Australia. Born at Cape Riche in 1851, he was the eldest son of the pioneer Andrew Moir, who was from Markinch in Fifeshire, Scotland, and had settled in the region in the 1840s. [1] .

Jul 29, 2022 · Mr. John Moir, of Cape Riche, died at the Albany District Hospital last Wednesday morning at the age of 87 years. In accordance with a dying wish, he was taken to his old home at Cape Riche for burial. The late Mr. Moir was born at Cape Riche on August 12,1851, the eldest son of the late Andrew Moir.
