Oct 10, 2024 · The Pro Plus is an excellent side adjust capo, but it does have a tendency to muffle the string response slightly. Not much, but enough that I continued looking at newer offerings. The Dunlop Pivot is the best capo I have found to date. After using various capos over the last 60 years I've settled on using the Dunlop Pivot.

Aug 10, 2007 · Agreed. I will say, however, that I use a capo to make playing in keys like F, Eb, and C# easier. But that's also combined with preferring the sound of open strings whenever I can get it. But mostly, I use a capo either to enhance the sound of two guitars, or because the sounds is dramatically different and allows things you can't do otherwise.

Nov 20, 2019 · The need to squeeze the capo is just a different method from the others and you get used to it. The fact that they ship with two sets of inserts is a big plus. The aren’t the cheapest and they are the heaviest of the three but they feel solid, look great and work!

Jan 28, 2013 · The capo will wear your frets to a VERY small degree, but actually fingering chords will cause more fret wear because you will actually (although you don't realize it) move the strings very slightly when chording and the friction will slowly file away at the frets.
