Early in the book, Sicarius is riling up the men with his "I, Cato Sicarus, Master of the Watch, Knight Champion of Macragge, Grand Duke of Talassar,etc." shtik, and then calls for his sword by it's name.

Made this meme because a person I hold with respect was harrased because of the misconception that TTS Cato is all the character is I adore both versions of Cato(TTS Cato is 10/10 funny and I will not hear otherwise), but PLEASE do not harass people over a version of a character that isn't accurate to the established lore

Nov 7, 2022 · Cato's current incarnation featured heavily in some of the narratives around the Ultramarines that annoyed parts of the fanbase. While people like to meme about Matt Ward, I don't think this is really his fault. The two battles on Damnos are a great example of this.

Cato Sicarius almost single-handedly makes the Ultramarines more interesting. This is just ripe setting up for some nice Roman politics (which Graham McNeill and Nick Kyme sorta alludes to). Because CS is arguably the best OP smurf, he probably is the best candidate for chapter master when Calgar dies.
