Dec 30, 2015 · Benoit was on ECW at the time. This was during the time WWE actually gave a shit about the Raw, Smackdown, and ECW brand differentiation thus being weird Benoit being on Raw. I do know that Benoit was supposed to win the ECW title at the ppv before that Monday but he had called in sick, when in reality he'd just killed his family. So fucking sad.

And you can blame WWE or the broader industry all you want - but Benoit was doing reckless, borderline stupid, things in the ring from when he was a teenager. I believe Chris Norwinski, a former Tough Enough contestant who briefly became a WWE Superstar before a concussion ended his career was consulted, as he had started a career helping with research and understanding concussions. The autopsy also revealed Chris Benoit had signs of steroid abuse and other substances in his system.

Nancy had a blanket covering her, along with pillows that looked out of place as the report notes. Then a bible was laid to her head. I'm wondering if Benoit knocked her out (hence the hemorrhage on her head) to carry out the murder. The blanket and pillows may have been Benoit's way of putting Nancy to rest so to speak.
