Jul 7, 2009 · Common thinking is that the 260Z flat top carbs are boat anchors. There are folks that say they can be made to work, but the vast majority will remove them and swap them with round top carbs from an earlier Z.

Jan 20, 2017 · I took my tank to a radiator shop and had them clean and paint it for $100. They recommended against sealing the inside because of fuel and vent lines in the tank and if you keep gas in it it protects itself against rust.

Nov 23, 2013 · Recently picked up a 78 Z and trying to clean up the bay a little. I stripped down the intake manifold and had it hot tanked. From what I've read, deleting the EGR and evap canister has no consequences, so I did away with them.

Sep 13, 2005 · Clean each part individually with carb cleaner, rinse with water and spray with WD40. Use the other carb for reference for reassembly. MSA sells a book on SUs. I don't have it but it probably could save you some greef.

Aug 15, 2012 · A couple of years ago I was given a very clean 260z, and came here for help and advice. I ended up building a 396 stroker for it- a bored and stroked 351 windsor,Vortec supercharger, aluminum heads/big cam etc, with a Tremec 5 speed and corvette rear end.

Nov 1, 2011 · My uncle bought a 1974 260z w/manual trans, that was sitting for a few years and we are trying to get it to run better. It will start, run with full choke, but has little power. the ISS tubes have been blocked off and the smog pump has been disconnected....all from the previous owners/mechanics work.

Jun 4, 2012 · I saw this clean 260z at a car show in Rock Hill, NY. I talked with the owner, and he said he bought it for $200 rust free. He put a Vette engine in it (I believe it was a Vette engine), it was easily my favorite car in the show.
