Nov 2, 2018 · Cyberpower is a reputable UPS and a lot of people have had success with their UPS's. I think their main claim was the sine-wave output, which may or may not matter depending on what's connected to it, and some of the APC's have sine wave now as well. I personally have had APC UPS's in my house for over 20 years and am very satisfied with them.

Can a Cyberpower UPS be setup to run a script at shutdown?
Jul 30, 2008 · I'm looking for a UPS and Cyberpower seems to have the best price for true sine wave units (important for future compatibility and because I do audio work). However, I need to safely shut down my Mac and my NAS if I lose power. I know Cyberpower will play nice with the Mac but Cyberpower doesn't have native drivers for my Solaris-based NAS.

Jun 23, 2010 · I did run into an issue with a certain powered USB hub; when the CyberPower was plugged into that hub, the CyberPower would crash (the UPS, not the computer) when shutting down the computer. Resolved by plugging the UPS into a non-powered hub. As noted earlier, the CyberPower models use standard batteries. So do the APCs.

May 12, 2010 · I have macOS Ventura 13.4.1 on my 2020 iMac 27" (Intel) and CyberPower PowerPanel Personal (overrode the install prevention to get it to install), but...it doesn't see the CP1500PFCLCDa UPS. I specifically got the UPS to replace my really old APC 1500 UPS that didn't work with Macs.

Aug 8, 2012 · I recently got this CyberPower UPS for my birthday. I just hooked it up today after charging the battery overnight. The USB cable is attached and OSX recognizes it perfectly. There are a lot of settings/check boxes to choose from. I'm not sure which ones to check and which ones to leave unchecked, being this is my first UPS.

Jul 6, 2010 · I honestly never even thought about getting a pure sine wave UPS for my iMac -- mainly because I'd had good luck with CyberPower UPS's in the past and they didn't offer a pure sine wave UPS at the time. For UPS' (as for other electrical loads), the more common descriptor is not Watt but Volt Ampere (VA). Looking at CyberPower's Sinewave series, the smallest model is 850 VA (500 W) CP850PFCLCD.

Switching off the UPS only switches off the load, power inverter, and voltage regulation circuits. The battery charging circuit is still active. UPS batteries are designed to be maintained at full charge, which will give them maximum operational life.
