Feb 23, 2025 · Info online says it was one of ten SW1200s built for the D&RGW in Dec. 1964 and January 1965. It was sold to a broker in July 1998, then to Farmers Elevator in Beresford, South Dakota in Oct 1998.

Between Jan. 1954 and May 1966, EMD built 1,056 SW1200 diesel switcher locomotives in the United States. The Denver & Rio Grande Western acquired 10, numbered 130-139 between Dec. 1964 and Jan. 1965.

May 28, 2021 · I ordered #2285 as it was pictured in Roseville CA in 1980. These do look very nice and it's my first SP switcher as I mainly model the D&RGW in the late 1970's thru early 1980's. I ordered a D&RGW as well from Rapido.
