DVD-Audio (commonly abbreviated as DVD-A) is a digital format for delivering high-fidelity audio content on a DVD. DVD-Audio uses most of the storage on the disc for high-quality audio and is not intended to be a video delivery format.

Dec 30, 2023 · Both of which have great sound quality (for music) compared to other DVD players I have owned over the years. Both will also play regular DVDs. The Toshiba has a pair of Burr-Brown DAC chips. The Pioneer uses Wolfson DAC chips. Both are pretty cheap used now.

Aug 27, 2004 · So far, I know the audio is on a LSI/Panasonic joint audio chip. No info on video. Looks like the LSI 8600 and the ZORAN ACTIVA 100 are the winning chipsets, and all my tests seem to match these findings!

Aug 24, 2012 · Distorted audio with distorted new recordings, same on the HDMI output, HDMI audio comes from the same chip, had to replace the LV7107 audio processor chip. You have to be experienced at soldering but it is doable.

Dec 16, 2022 · I find that BluRay Pure Audio, SACD and DVD-Audio are comparable, so long as the digital master used to create them are at appropriate sample rates. The real garbage are DVD-A at 192k or 96k from a DSD master.

Jan 18, 2004 · With the onboard sound chip with the latest realtec drivers, any dvd (especially high fidelity funny enough) plays with the sound really choppy and nasty. If I switch to my second soundblaster soundcard, the sound is really perfect.
