Feb 10, 2022 · The Delta wave is a slurred upstroke in the QRS complex. It relates to pre-excitation of the ventricles, and therefore often causes an associated shortening of the PR interval. It is most commonly associated with pre-excitation syndromes such as WPW.
Supraventricular Tachycardia (SVT) • LITFL • ECG Library Diagnosis
Oct 8, 2024 · A review of the different types of supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) with a focus on AV-nodal re-entry tachycardia (AVNRT).
Patients with a delta wave and tachycardia have Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome. The delta wave may be visible on ECG, although this depends on the location of the pathway because concealed...
Reentrant Supraventricular Tachycardias (SVT) Including Wolff …
Leads I, II, III, V3 through V6 show classic features of WPW syndrome, with a short PR interval and a delta wave during sinus rhythm. The delta wave prolongs QRS duration to > 0.12 second, although the overall configuration, apart from the delta wave, may appear normal.
Supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) - EMCrit Project
Jan 5, 2025 · An entirely positive P-wave in V1 may suggest flutter (normal P's in V1 are biphasic). Atypical flutter (aka intra-atrial reentrant tachycardia): positive inferiorly, negative in V1, and positive in V6 (so atypical flutter may mimic sinus tachycardia more closely).
Diagnosis and management of supraventricular tachycardias
Dec 16, 2021 · An ECG performed during the tachyarrhythmia may show retrograde P waves following the QRS complex. Once terminated, the resting ECG may show signs of pre-excitation: a delta wave with a widened QRS complex and a short PR interval.
Common paediatric arrhythmias • LITFL • ECG Library Diagnosis
Oct 8, 2024 · WPW syndrome is characterised by the occurrence of SVT plus specific ECG findings in sinus rhythm. The characteristic pre-excitation is evidenced by a short PR interval and widened QRS with a slurred upstroke or delta wave.
Vagal maneuvers are an effective first-line treatment option for SVT in younger patients who are hemodynamically stable; they can also be diagnostic for nodal-dependent SVT. Brugada criteria...
Evaluation and Initial Treatment of Supraventricular Tachycardia
Oct 11, 2012 · A delta wave, an initial slurring of the QRS complex, is present on the surface ECG in most cases of anterograde bypass tracts and indicates partial depolarization of the ventricular tissue ...
Supraventricular Tachycardia: Diagnosis and Management
Electrocardiograms of patients with accessory pathway arrhythmias may or may not show delta waves (ie, initial slurring of the QRS) in sinus rhythm. The presence of a delta wave in sinus rhythm usually suggests that the SVT is related to the accessory pathway.
