Jan 13, 2022 · Diovan® is indicated for the treatment of hypertension, to lower blood pressure in adults and pediatric patients one year of age and older. Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of fatal and nonfatal cardiovascular events, primarily strokes and myocardial infarctions.
Diovan is indicated to improve survival following recent myocardial infarction in clinically stable patients with signs, symptoms or radiological evidence of left ventricular failure and/or with left ventricular systolic dysfunction (see section CLINICAL PHARMACOLOGY).
DIOVAN 80 mg tablets: pale red, round shaped tablets with bevelled edges, scored on one side with debossing “D” on one side of the score and “V” on the other side of the score and “NVR” on the reverse side of the tablet.

Jul 22, 2011 · The recommended starting dose of Diovan (valsartan) is 80 mg or 160 mg once daily when used as monotherapy in patients who are not volume-depleted. Patients requiring greater reductions may be started at the higher dose. Diovan may be used over a dose range of 80 mg to 320 mg daily, administered once a day.
