It is particularly well suited to books and papers about computer hardware and software (though it is by no means limited to these applications).

There are two keywords that occur in the content models of DocBook elements: EMPTY, and #PCDATA. A content model that consists of the single keyword EMPTY identifes an element as an empty element. Empty elements are not allowed to have any content.
