Nov 18, 2023 · I owned an M37 for 46 years. I just sold it a bit over a year ago. Quite the beast. I just loved that truck. Luckily the guy that bought it is only about 1.5 miles away. He’s totally restored it- even tho in my opinion it was “perfect” (in my opinion) except for the seats. I must say it is beautiful now tho!

That's a good deal on the shape of the innereds of the transmission. Some government surplus vehicles were extremely low mileage examples. The '52 Dodge M37 we had less than10,000 miles on the clock, when we purchased it. The truck had gone through a depot overhaul in the mid seventies, then cut loose to the Civil Defence program.

If memory serves me, it was built by Alexis fire apparatus company. It went for around $1,000 to one of the firefighters to keep it in the "family". The first pictures is of a Dodge M37 that belonged to another volunteer fire department and was auctioned off for a good price.

Now you mentioned that you have one parking brake set up with external shoes. That has me thinking back if I've run across anything besides a John Deere two cylinder clutch that utilizes an external brake shoe.... I can't come up with any, because even the examples put out by Dodge, (M37) had internal shoes. I could be wrong, and often times are.

There is a good chance that the new fuel pump will deliver a higher pressure than the older pump. Go ahead and put a regulator between the pump and carburetor so you can set fuel pressure where you want it.
