Dec 20, 2024 · The SD45 was the most powerful and entered EMD's catalog in December, 1965 with the unveiling of Demonstrator #4351. The big locomotive was equipped with a 20-cylinder variant of the builder's new model 645E3 prime mover.

Aug 8, 2020 · Lou Marre suggests as much on page 118 of Frisco in Color, authored by Lou and Greg Sommers. Photographs that I have seen in various publications, including my own Frisco Power in Color, regularly show a pair of SD45s assisted by a F7B, a GP38AC, a GP38-2, a GP40-2 or a four-axle GE unit.

All GP38s, GP38-2s, GP40-2s, B30-7s, and SD40-2s were equipped with Pyle gyrolites. The last order of SD45s and the two orders of U30Bs were similarly equipped. The first order of GP35s had fuel tank that required that the air reservoirs be placed on the roof of the locomotive.

May 30, 2020 · Amazing model and sound effects! Great for anyone who likes the SLSF. This is a great model, not only because there isn’t much SLSF, but because everything about it is good. I love the attention to detail with the L-window and RS5TRRO hornsound. Very good locomotive. Finally a horn that I wouldn’t change.
