It offers a 3-5X increase in detection range over the older LANTIRN system [citation needed], and is currently flying on U.S. Air Force and multinational F-16, F-15, B-1B, CF-18, Harrier, A-10, B-52 and Tornado aircraft.

The F-16 carries the LANTIRN pods on its chin stations: the AN/AAQ-13 Navigation Pod on the port station (5L) and the AN/AAQ-13 Targeting Pod on the starboard station (5R). The weight of the pods necessitated strengthening of the internal structure of the F-16 and of the undercarriage.

The AN/ASQ-213 [1] HARM targeting system (HTS) is a targeting pod mounted to either of the engine inlet hardpoints of an F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft. It enables the aircraft to track the location of hostile radar systems in any weather, and identify them to allow for usage of the AGM-88 HARM missile or other air-to-ground weapons. [ 2 ]

Sniper ATP is a proven electro-optical targeting system housed in a single,lightweight pod. It handles the most challenging precision targeting and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance air-to-air and air-to-ground missions in the land, sea and air domains.

A number of F-16 users have opted for the MRP (Modular Reconnaissance Pod), which is manufactured by Per Udsen in Denmark. The USAF opted for this system to accommodate it's own TARS recce system. But also Denmark itself is using the pod to replace it's Red Baron pods.

LITENING Advanced Targeting, or AT, is a precision targeting pod system operational with a wide variety of combat air forces aircraft (A-10A/C, B-52H, F-15E and F-16 Blocks 25-52) as well as aircraft operated by other services and allies (AV-8B, EA-6B, F-16 Block 15 and F/A-18).

The Air Force has continued to purchase additional quantities of HTS pods and now plans to purchase pods to support the entire F-16 Block 50/52 fleet. The original HTS pod was upgraded in 1996 with a software Release 5, which vastly increased ranging speed and …

LANTIRN ER, which is the latest LANTIRN production configuration, is offered as a newly fabricated pod, or as an upgrade to existing pods. It is deployed and proven on international F-15 and F-16 aircraft.

The Sniper pod is combat proven on U.S. Air Force and international F-15E, F-16 (all blocks), B-1, A-10C, Harrier GR7/9 and CF-18 aircraft. Lockheed Martin is also in the final stages of integrating the Sniper pod on the B-52.
