Dec 14, 2017 · Can anyone tell me what the circled things are on the F/A-18 Super Hornet? According to this, they are fuel/air heat exchanger, and engine bleed air, exhaust vents. Speed holes, they make ya go faster.

Just a tip, a quick way to differentiate a legacy Hornet from a Super Hornet is by looking at their air intakes, on the LHs they are more circular in shape, on the SH they are rectangular! Also the edge on the root of the wing (the one below the cockpit) is bigger on the Super Hornet
