Team up with 3 to 6 students, ages 9 to 19, to design, manufacture, and race a miniature F1® racing car in an exciting STEM challenge. This project allows you to apply what you’ve learned in class to real-world scenarios.

F1 in Schools is an international youth competition with a focus on STEM, where teams of students design, build and race miniature F1 cars. Alongside this, teams must produce portfolios covering their engineering and enterprise work, a pit display, a verbal presentation and fundraise to support their F1 in Schools journey.

I've always taken a liking towards motorsports (especially F1), and when I heard of F1iS I knew this was a perfect opportunity for me. The concept of racing a miniature car along a 20m track captured my interest immediately.

STEM Racing (formerly F1 in Schools) is an international STEM competition endorsed by Formula 1 for students aged 9–19. Nov 1, 2024 · We began our journey as a team in October 2022, when competing in Development Class at the Scottish Regional Finals at our home base, Linlithgow Academy. Here, we were able to win first place in the category, as well as win the awards for the best engineered car and fastest car in Development Class.
