May 19, 2020 · Incidentally, I had a close call by almost missing my opportunity to purchase the DJI Care Refresh. When I received the drone, powered it up, and registered it, I skipped the Care Refresh option initially until I heard back from this community regarding my FCC vs CE confusion. But then I had to travel for two days.

Aug 7, 2023 · One remark: CE vs FCC is set due to limitation of maximum power output for 2.4GHz and 5GHz (and other) bands. It is required by telecommunication regulator authority. Regarding France, I think that there is also additional limits for maximum power output of transmitter (power output of transmitter itself and also transmitted power by dron).

Apr 29, 2020 · If the RC has hardware capable of both FCC and CE power modes, then if you 'fool' it into thinking it is in a FCC region the unit will switch to the FCC power. Mavic Air 1 has this feature for wifi. If you run the FakeGPS and then start the drone and RC it switches to FCC freqs and power. Doubles the control range. I've tested it and it does work.

Well, now with the new firmware tons of people all over the internet have noted the drone will not get 2.4 and losing signal as close as 30m away. I can vouch for this, got mine 4 days ago and have it all set up proprely, with about, 10-2 min flights as signal loss is so bad.
