Yes, I love the Fh4 map because of the greenery and the seasons change also the train goes throughout the map unlike Fh5 where it’s confined to the North East area. However Fh5’s map is bigger and I love the climate changes.

There's a lot of new developments in the years since FH4 came out that allow more efficient storage, texture tessellation and shaders. The game engine looks like it's using many similar tricks to UE5 in regards to the way it handles LoD at distances.

Nov 30, 2021 · FH4 has 4 seasons, more like 4 maps and DLC like Lego and Fortune Islands, Horizon 4 is more like simulation game and horizon 5 is arcade racer. I have both games trust me horizon 4 is much better and it is more realistic. in horizon 5 they changed the shading and lightening but its not very natural

Sep 15, 2024 · FH4 absolutely has the better map. FH5 is a much larger world but unfocused, and all the interesting bits are around the outside with the centre feeling flat and empty. There are four seasons versus two in FH5, although one of these is winter which requires ice tyres which some don't seem to like (I love it as it looks Christmassy!)
