Ferrari 159 S (1947) was the second Ferrari (after the 125 S). Only two 159S were built, one of these rebuilt as a Ferrari 166 Spyder Corsa. It was basically a Ferrari 125 S with a larger engine (larger bore) and very minor cosmetic differences.

Ferrari's Dino project of the late 1956 gave birth to the company's well-known 65° V6 DOHC engines. This Vittorio Jano design formed the basis of the company's modern engines right up through the mid-2000s (decade).

The Ferrari 159 S retained the barchetta (“little boat”) design of the 125 S, characterized by its open-top body style and aerodynamic lines. The bodywork, crafted by Carrozzeria Touring, exhibited clean, minimalist aesthetics that emphasized functionality and performance.
